WTF Do You Know???
Ok, so its high time I make another announcement! We are currently looking for people that are interested in contributing to Flyninja in some way, misshape, or malform. Flyninja as you all know is more than just a hacking site, it’s an expressive compilation of rants, raves, and lifestyle. With the added bonus of infosec stuff and technology posts. So to kick off some of the new look, the forum, the public IRC, I would like to invite YOU to apply to our site. Some prerequisites however, yes I know there is always a catch…but hear me out. We don’t want a bunch of people running around not knowing what the fuck is going on, we don’t want a bunch of people around who can’t keep secrets, and we don’t want a bunch of people asking a whole lot of questions before heading over to google or yahoo to attempt to find em first.
So head over to the application page (link is in toolbar) copy and paste the app into your email client/interface whatever and send it my way. I and others will review your application and let you know. Accepted applications will gain an account to the main page and private forums.
If you would only like to contribute to the main page and are not interested in the other sections simply specify this in the application. Thanks in advance to all who apply.
A Look into Notacon 5
Notacon is just about here and in this post I will shed some light into the event and some of the things that will be going on there. Notacon is an annual event held in Cleveland every year, and has been going on since 2004. It’s not a very old Con as some of the more popular ones many have heard of, such as Defcon, HITB and Hope, yet the event is steadily becoming more popular as it makes up for what the other cons supposedly lack. I can’t say what the others lack because this is the first ‘Con’ I’ll be attending, but knowing Cleveland and the area, it’s dedication to the things we love and enjoy, I don’t doubt the claim.
Two very interesting individuals (im sure all attendees will be interesting enough) who will be guests of honor at Notacon this year will be Emmanuel Goldstein Hacker magazine 2600 editor and host to the weekly radio show, “Off the Hook” on WBAI in New York City, if you ever seen “Hackers”, well, he was one of the people the producers got in touch with for the movie, Cereal Killer’s real name is Emmanuel Goldstein. He’s been in the scene for quite sometime.
Drew Curtis will be there! Who is Drew Curtis? Well for those of you who don’t know, Drew Curtis is the founder of Fark.com, that awesome news and media site that never fails to excite, admonish or taint your senses…it’s not really news ya know…it’s Fark. I hope to cheers beers with this guy, hell he probably came up with the word while he was drunk…either that or almost said fart in front of his grandparents, caught himself in midspeak and changed the pronunciation last second. Who knows. This guy is fucking cool.
So what else goes on at Notacon you ask? How about “Anything but Ethernet” a contest aimed at celebrating the fact that the internet and communication doesn’t run over cat5 only. How about Starcraft Musical Chairs? Yea you heard me right. I wonder how many people will choose Zerg or if they’ll all have to be different, this should be damn fun. Other than those two fantastic spectacles attendees are sure to enjoy, there is also Blockparty, a knitting workshop (lol i know) and a myriad of talks and contests that will span an entire three days, sure fun for all.
We now have Public IRC
Thats right Flyninja now has a public IRC channel thanks to Storm from Go Null Yourself for the offer and thanks to the guys on Pseud0.net for allowing me to start a channel!

New look and the Flyninja Forums
Hello everyone once again we have updated the site, as you may have noticed we have spun a new look combining the rest of the sections of the site, minus the news and search, into one. So from now on you’ll be able to reach all content from one place instead of going to this section, to that section, annoying .js blah blah blah.
We have also launched our official forums. These forums are private and are only reachable to those who are invited into them. We don’t want a bunch of nubs and tards lurking about in there and just, eh you know what I mean. For those of you who would like to join the forums, you will need to apply, the application will be available soon. I’ll keep you updated.
Welcome to our new affiliate WarezWaldo, and you guys at Illmob, give me a minute and I’ll have your button and link back up
Cheers

Notacon 5 – Cleveland, Ohio
What: Notacon 5
When: April 4th-6th 2008
Where:Holiday Inn, Select City Centre 1111 Lakeside Avenue Cleveland, OH 44114
NOTACON, an annual conference held in Cleveland, Ohio, explores and
showcases technologies, philosophy and creativity often overlooked at other
“hacker cons”. Our desire is not to supplant other events, but complement them and strike a balance that has gone unnoticed in our community for far too long.
Thats right this year I am heading to Notacon 5 in Cleveland, Ohio. I plan on teaming up and hanging out with GraphiK and others from Veryangrytoad.com plus others you may find familiar, such as the creator of Fark.com Drew Curtis. This year will be a blast because it will be my first convention, and it’s close to home, not to mention as part of registering for Notacon you also get full access to Blockparty, which is smothered in awesomeness.
I will keep daily updates and photos from Notacon 5 during the weekend of the event! More to come! Stay Tuned for updates and projects for and of the event.
Pastor Melissa Scott, Porn Star turned Televangelist? Flyninja investigates.
You see a lot of strange stuff on television late when you stay up late at night.
Those J.G. Wentworth commercials I just recently found out are seen nationwide, I thought it was strange because the production quality was so low that it had to be local.
One series of commercials I know for a fact are just local, but deserve to be seen globally:

Yes, those commercials are real and frequent…
But Mark Norton and his furniture store isn’t the focus of this article, it’s the gorgeous TV preacher who I constantly see when I channel surf late at night.

Pastor Melissa Scott preaches in a Canadian sounding accent in front of a white board covered in insane looking scribblings on late night TV, her webcast, and I wouldn’t doubt she’s probably on at a decent hour on other channels on Sundays.
After looking at her for a split second, I realized that she’s too hott to be a TV preacher–I knew there had to be something behind the scenes…. I expected to find naked pictures of some hot chick, what I found was a bona fide internet conspiracy.
