USB-B Wiring Diagram
I was going through some papers laying around my desk and I found a diagram I scribbled up while I was building my USB HDD box
I looked all over the Internet to find a simple diagram just like this but came up empty handed… I found a diagram from Wikipedia which listed the wiring configuration in numerical form, not color coded which I needed. I ended up having to resort to trial and error, systematically hooking up each wire until my computer recognized my device, which isn’t a very good technique to use with some home brew applications because it could end with damaged equipment.
So here it is, the only known (to me) copy of a USB-B Wiring Diagram in existance on the Internet. Brought to you FIRST by Flyninja.net. Yes, it’s kinda crappy, but it’s the best looking MSPaint graphic made from Sharpie on Post-it note that 2 minutes can offer.
(If you need a USB-A Diagram, you’re screwed)

Torrenting good for business :) {rant}
I am sure if writing an introduction to this rant that I wrote a few months ago would be appreciated. Well I figure why not?! It would prove on one hand that I did not just copy past my work here. Besides that I am waiting for dinner!
Lol!
Any way this was written in haste and I did not really put in a lot of work. I guess that is why it is called a rant and not an essay. I just wanted to say that if it was not for torrents I probably would not do half of the stuff that I do on my computers and the net.
Like I have said I have posted this on the forum and I received some comments some of which I would like to post here. Well one of the things that I have mentioned later was that after watching the movie Transporter 3 I thought that was just one huge commercials for Audi. I just hate that. Who actually believes that I would pay to watch that crap. I am so angry. Any way MariaLara mentioned that is called product placement. While DNR said the following:
You are talking about Mind Control.
Come on, the media is under control, by the rich and the political.
You can’t run and hide from their grasp. They did it to books. They had you with Radio, then Moving Pictures, then came the TV, some fool came out with rock n’ roll, but they got him too. Music, pictures, and spoken words, they have to be controlled somehow – by those in power. They want you to focus on “wine and games” – so you won’t get mad at what they are doing to your life. The cycle of indebtness, the cycle of madness – lust, envy, greed, and gluttony – those in power are all responsible for that. Thats how they keep their power.
Like mice in a cage, they got us on the treadmill – press a lever and they’ll give you cocaine. Run until you die, insert another mouse..
The torrent, like the old BBS of the days – was a place to escape the mind control. No ads, no money to be made, just people interacting. Freedom of mind control. Protect the last frontier.

What is the point of high speed internet connections and 500GB hardrives if we had no torrents? If countries all across the globe somehow managed to put a complete ban on file sharing would there really be any point in having a 5MB/s internet connection and a 500GB hardrive. Of course now day’s a 5MB/s internet connection is not that big of a thing and neither is a 500GB hardrive. Because I have been thinking what would a permanent ban on file sharing do to ISP providers and hardware manufacturers. For instance I bought a computer and installed linux on it so that I could run it as a server for the sake of file sharing. I also pay more than 40 euros per month for my internet connection. Now lets say some one comes along one day with a three strike law or what ever and says you can not download torrents. Now I would lets say figure I do not need any more a 5MB/s or more interent connection and instead I chose like a 1MB/s internet connection my ISP would receive just from me at least 20 euros less. Now if other people follow and do the same in there thousands soon ISP’s would lose a lot of money. Some thing that I am sure they are not looking foreward to.
For the last two years I have not gone to the cinema and I have not bought any DVDs or Cd’s. Thanks to torrenting I do not need to. I know that many other people prefer to spend there money on other things but that does not mean that the movie industry or the music industry is not making huge sums of money. In fact it does not seem that the file sharing community is affecting them at all.
So this idea that one day we would wake up to a world with out file sharing angers me. This has become some how my routine just like drinking coffee is to some. In the morning I go and check my favorite P2P websites if there is any thing worth downloading, download any thing that I want and than I am off to do other things. This you could say is my morning coffee. I do not need coffee but I do need torrents. It is just like some one came along and told all the coffee drinkers that they can not drink coffee any more, they are going to stop producing it and basically it is going to be illegal. How do you think the coffee drinkers would accept that? They would be infuriated.
Romans knew that if they want relative calm and peace they need, “wine and games.” Now you take away torrents which would equal to games there might be problems. I can say for my self that the day that file sharing would be gone I would go nuts. I would go out at night and write graffiti. I have done that countless of times and no one ever caught me. I do not do that any more because now I have more fun with torrenting but take the away the torrents and I will write graffiti again. Some of mine graffiti have been around for years.
I do not mind buying a CD if I feel like it is worth the money. For instance while back I bought a CD by MM-The golden age of Grotesque and I do not feel any regret for purchasing it. I still listen to it today. It is a great album. Now I can not say that for many other stuff out there. Now if I had to buy every thing that I listen to I would have to steal stuff to pay for it. I have two DVDs full of dance and electro music and I listen to that from time to time but I had to buy that I guess I would have it. Because from my point of view it would not be worth it I just listened to it from time to time.
Copying Sega Dreamcast Games – Give New Life To An Old Console
Disclaimer: Don’t copy Dreamcast games that you don’t already own, you’ll go to pound-me-in-the-ass prison if you get busted.
I recently discovered that you can download, burn, and play Sega Dreamcast games without ANY hardware modification. I guess there was a huge vulnerability in it’s copy protection, to which code-junkies everywhere not only copied games, but made homebrew games and software such as Linux ports and emulators.

After I exclaim this fact, I usually get the response “Yeah, I’ve known that since it came out.”, but nobody I know personally has ever attempted using any of it.

In order to copy games that you already own, you will need a bunch of extra hardware and software, which is unnecessary due to the fact that just about every Sega Dreamcast game in existance has already been leaked to the net in a disc image format. Original Dreamcast games are coded on a “GD-ROM” (Giga-Disc), and through some clever engineering from off-the-shelf parts, Sega was able to get 1.2 GB off ordinary CD-ROMs through using almost double density techniques… or something. Groups who had all the fancy hardware to copy the games had to also somehow compress some of the data in order to allow the Dreamcast games to fit on a 700MB CD-R, I think they pretty much just compressed some of the audio and videos but I could be wrong…

There are TONS of YouTube videos and personal websites that go over in great detail on how to copy Dreamcast games, but it’s actually very simple.
Things you’ll need:
-Alcohol 120% Virtual Drive Software
-Padus DiscJuggler Burning Software
-Downloaded Disc Image (I’ve always seen them as *.cdi files but I’ve heard there’s some in .nrg format…)
-Blank CD-R
Note: Lots of the disc images out there for Dreamcast games are archived in funky .rar files where it’ll be an archive full of archives. All you need to do if you get one of these is open the top archive file and extract the .cdi inside of it… that’s it.
Step 1: Load the .cdi file into a virtual drive using Alcohol 120%
Step 2: Copy the virtual disc with ‘copy disc on the fly’ using DiscJuggler with the RAW read/write option toggled in the ‘advanced’ tab. DON’T have it test or verify your compilation, it won’t know what it’s doing and end up wasting a blank CD.
Step 3: Wait for a long time while it burns your game and then test it with a Dreamcast.

I’ve gotten a hold of rotten images that don’t work no matter what, even after using that cdifix.exe utility. So if you get a hold of one of those, don’t try and muscle a working burn with it, you’ll just waste your discs.
There’s tons of different stuff out there that you can burn and run on the Dreamcast, here’s just a few:
-Bleemcast! is a Playstation emulator for the Dreamcast, which is only compatible with certain games, but it renders the games with better resolution than the Playstation could. You download them and burn it together on one disc (no disc swapping required)

-Nester NES on the Dreamcast, which works pretty well.
-There’s an SNES emulator called DreamSNES but it sucks ass because it’s based off of SNES9X, which a 200MHZ PC cannot handle well, let alone a 200MHZ Sega Dreamcast. Needless to say, don’t expect to play your games at fullspeed with DreamSNES… better yet, just skip playing with that one, it’s just headaches and heartache.
-There is also LinuxDC, which is pretty self-descriptive… I haven’t tested it yet, but I probably will at some point. (If you’ve played with Linux on the Dreamcast, feel free to comment about your experience)
So there you have it, new ways of playing with the ancient Sega Dreamcast. I think toying around with the Dreamcast could be a good warm-up for those who want to port Linux to their PS3, but have no idea what they’re doing and don’t want to fuck-up their equipment.
Sweet Dreams.

The movie wasnt great, but The “Hackers” soundtrack is simply bomb.
I have many reasons why I would like to just say, that Hackers wasn’t true in almost all of it’s facets, but the motion pictures soundtrack is simply amazing. Hackers came out in what like 1995 with Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie…Got it, you know the one where they dress all techie and redbox payphones in New York City? That’s it. Well since the movie was off quite a bit, they delivered with the soundtack. Now as a person that loves music in many forms I listen to this album frequently.
Packed with strong house and foundation by Prodigy, the album simply communicates creativity. Fast and true melodies streaming with sync, the electronic push of technology towards the 21st Century and it’s effect on culture. The music is the dividing line between reality and the movie. Ya, “Hackers” may have not been all that great, a lot of people considered it crap, but it’s one that sparks your interest.
How does a person get interested in something? They see something, the watch and are inspired to do something. I was sparked by the amiga, atari, and the shite 286 sittin in a box half the size of a microwave. The terms ‘computer’ and ‘hacking’, whoa, shit technology. Oh this going to be fun.
How about you?
A Busy Hacker’s Life
Well, since I was introduced to a hacker named John/802.11/WiFi long ago (less than two years ago) my life has gone from Clandestine-Hide-in-My-Box Hacker to Social-Hacker-from-Hell. I was asked to go to a hacker conference that I’d never heard of on The Very Angry Toad. I met Circuitbomb and GraphiK as well as Myself248 (who has since become a mentor of sorts).
Later, I was given the helm of Cheer10s: A Flyninja Project and Underground Syndicate. It became my sole job to keep news up for the Hacker-minded. I started going to school for Electronics Assembly and Engineering (since moving on with a certificate to another school Computer Programming). I staffed at Notacon5 and The Last HOPE as security.
Now, I’m working on some projects that are still in the planning stages as well as planned for Notacon6 in the background stage because I couldn’t afford to go. VeryAngryToad is working to come back online and Flyninja is making a major breakthrough. Cheer10s is no longer a Flyninja Project being self-supporting. I am also a VIP at GoNullYourself.org as a contributor to projects yet to come.
So, since I met John/802.11/WiFi (Whatever the fuck he called himself!!!) and he called me to VAT, he’s turned me around. He’s turned me into a Hacker that isn’t afraid to fight for my rights or isn’t afraid to say “I’m a Hacker and I Hack Shit and You’ll Never Stop Me and Thanks for the Secks Early 90s Printer and……” I’ll never shut up at this pace.
How can this be better?
Greetings everyone! It has been a while since I last posted, I know I know. I’ve been busy as a bee; gaming, working, dividing my time between school and everything else in the world it seems. Anyways let me get to the point here.
I, as well as some of the others here, want to know how can we make Flyninja.net better for you! What do you want? For example, do you want your own blogs so we can create a wide take over the world community? A place for you to start your own blog? How about sections completely dedicated to certain material such as gaming, technology, and hacking? A public forum perhaps?
Tell us!!! Some of us are working on a new system here from scratch that will help make our lives easier, and also mae your experience here better, so letting us know what we can do to enhance that experience gives us a better goal to achieve.
Hope to hear your ideas
