Torrenting good for business :) {rant}
I am sure if writing an introduction to this rant that I wrote a few months ago would be appreciated. Well I figure why not?! It would prove on one hand that I did not just copy past my work here. Besides that I am waiting for dinner!
Lol!
Any way this was written in haste and I did not really put in a lot of work. I guess that is why it is called a rant and not an essay. I just wanted to say that if it was not for torrents I probably would not do half of the stuff that I do on my computers and the net.
Like I have said I have posted this on the forum and I received some comments some of which I would like to post here. Well one of the things that I have mentioned later was that after watching the movie Transporter 3 I thought that was just one huge commercials for Audi. I just hate that. Who actually believes that I would pay to watch that crap. I am so angry. Any way MariaLara mentioned that is called product placement. While DNR said the following:
You are talking about Mind Control.
Come on, the media is under control, by the rich and the political.
You can’t run and hide from their grasp. They did it to books. They had you with Radio, then Moving Pictures, then came the TV, some fool came out with rock n’ roll, but they got him too. Music, pictures, and spoken words, they have to be controlled somehow – by those in power. They want you to focus on “wine and games” – so you won’t get mad at what they are doing to your life. The cycle of indebtness, the cycle of madness – lust, envy, greed, and gluttony – those in power are all responsible for that. Thats how they keep their power.
Like mice in a cage, they got us on the treadmill – press a lever and they’ll give you cocaine. Run until you die, insert another mouse..
The torrent, like the old BBS of the days – was a place to escape the mind control. No ads, no money to be made, just people interacting. Freedom of mind control. Protect the last frontier.

What is the point of high speed internet connections and 500GB hardrives if we had no torrents? If countries all across the globe somehow managed to put a complete ban on file sharing would there really be any point in having a 5MB/s internet connection and a 500GB hardrive. Of course now day’s a 5MB/s internet connection is not that big of a thing and neither is a 500GB hardrive. Because I have been thinking what would a permanent ban on file sharing do to ISP providers and hardware manufacturers. For instance I bought a computer and installed linux on it so that I could run it as a server for the sake of file sharing. I also pay more than 40 euros per month for my internet connection. Now lets say some one comes along one day with a three strike law or what ever and says you can not download torrents. Now I would lets say figure I do not need any more a 5MB/s or more interent connection and instead I chose like a 1MB/s internet connection my ISP would receive just from me at least 20 euros less. Now if other people follow and do the same in there thousands soon ISP’s would lose a lot of money. Some thing that I am sure they are not looking foreward to.
For the last two years I have not gone to the cinema and I have not bought any DVDs or Cd’s. Thanks to torrenting I do not need to. I know that many other people prefer to spend there money on other things but that does not mean that the movie industry or the music industry is not making huge sums of money. In fact it does not seem that the file sharing community is affecting them at all.
So this idea that one day we would wake up to a world with out file sharing angers me. This has become some how my routine just like drinking coffee is to some. In the morning I go and check my favorite P2P websites if there is any thing worth downloading, download any thing that I want and than I am off to do other things. This you could say is my morning coffee. I do not need coffee but I do need torrents. It is just like some one came along and told all the coffee drinkers that they can not drink coffee any more, they are going to stop producing it and basically it is going to be illegal. How do you think the coffee drinkers would accept that? They would be infuriated.
Romans knew that if they want relative calm and peace they need, “wine and games.” Now you take away torrents which would equal to games there might be problems. I can say for my self that the day that file sharing would be gone I would go nuts. I would go out at night and write graffiti. I have done that countless of times and no one ever caught me. I do not do that any more because now I have more fun with torrenting but take the away the torrents and I will write graffiti again. Some of mine graffiti have been around for years.
I do not mind buying a CD if I feel like it is worth the money. For instance while back I bought a CD by MM-The golden age of Grotesque and I do not feel any regret for purchasing it. I still listen to it today. It is a great album. Now I can not say that for many other stuff out there. Now if I had to buy every thing that I listen to I would have to steal stuff to pay for it. I have two DVDs full of dance and electro music and I listen to that from time to time but I had to buy that I guess I would have it. Because from my point of view it would not be worth it I just listened to it from time to time.
mmm Hardcopy – The smell of a new book looms on the horizon…
For all of you who enjoy reading and learning at the same time. I would like to announce that leetupload.com’s Gordon Johnson is putting the finishing touches on his brand spanking new book titled – “No Root for You: A Series of Tutorials, Rants and Raves, and Other Random Nuances” which I’m sure after looking over the Table of Contents you’ll be thrilled to find some extensive and interesting topics that cover some or all of our favorite vices in the computer security field. A more direct description for the book comes from Gordon himself stating “The book is about network auditing, consisting of a step-by-step tutorial guide explaining how one would go about auditing, securing, and learning why certain exploits work.” That’s tasty.
This book is feature length at 382 pages covering more than 36 topics ranging from spoofing, spoon-fed information series, miscelaneous exploitation techniques rants and raves, operating system hacking, hardware modification and more…thats pretty impressive if you ask me, and to be honest, I’m looking forward to adding this manifest of knowledge to one of my shelves. Here is the actual back cover summary -
As I have noticed over the years, direct spoon-fed information on anything that involves network auditing or anything of the sort has been rather scarce these days. This is why my book has spawned in such a form that resolves this issue. The idea is to prove that such tasks may be explained in an articulate manner, while still maintaining a proper rapport with the individual. People tend to speak in lofty tongue when they have a superiority complex. I negate this completely by drawing back the verbal curtain and cut straight to the point. This is done by speaking in layman’s terms while still maintaining proper terminology when absolutely necessary, and explain such thoughts in metaphor to explain the idea in a more descriptive form. As you may have guessed, this is a network auditor’s quick reference bible. Not only does it contain step by step illustrated tutorials, but an explanation in regards to why each exploitation or what have you works, and how to defend against such attacks. Be prepared, one might also discover a few rants and raves, as well as a few other random nuances therein.
The book should be released soon sometime between mid to late June so if your looking to obtain a copy you should keep yourself updated at leetupload.com where you can also learn more about the book – or here, because I will post about it’s availability as soon as it’s release. Congrats on your new book Gordon, we can’t wait to see it.
